Disclaimer

Introduction

This Disclaimer explains important limits of Document Fetch. Document Fetch provides browser-based tools that process publicly accessible document links from third-party platforms, including Scribd, Studocu, SlideShare, Academia.edu, and Issuu. The tools are free to try, but they are not a promise that every link will produce a download.

We publish this page because clarity builds trust. Many online “downloader” sites overstate what they can do. Document Fetch is intentionally conservative: we describe public-content processing, we refuse to market bypass features, and we prefer an honest error over a fake success state.

Independent tool with no affiliation

Document Fetch is an independent website operated separately from the platforms whose links it can accept. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, hired by, or officially connected to Scribd, Studocu, SlideShare, LinkedIn, Academia.edu, Issuu, or any parent company of those services. Mentions of those names are for identification and descriptive purposes only so users can choose the correct tool for a given URL.

All trademarks, logos, and brand assets belonging to third parties remain the property of their owners. Document Fetch does not claim any partnership simply because a tool can accept a public URL from a named platform. If you need authoritative information about a platform’s features, pricing, or policies, consult that platform directly.

No guarantee of results or uptime

We make no guarantee that any specific document, slide deck, paper, magazine, or other file will be available through Document Fetch at any particular time. Availability depends on factors outside our control, including whether the source page is public, whether the platform returns usable HTML or public assets to an ordinary server request, whether the uploader restricted access, and whether the document was removed or relocated.

Source platforms frequently deploy bot protection, challenge pages, rate limits, and other security measures. Document Fetch does not bypass those measures. When automated access is blocked, you may see a clear message and an option to open the original page on the source site. That outcome is expected behavior, not a defect you should interpret as a hidden “unlock” feature waiting behind a paywall on our side.

We also do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, instantaneous processing, or compatibility with every browser, network, or device. Temporary outages, hosting issues, or upstream network problems can occur. During those times, tools may fail even for links that worked earlier.

Public content only

Document Fetch is designed around publicly accessible methods. It is not a service for defeating authentication, defeating CAPTCHA, defeating Cloudflare or Fastly challenges, bypassing subscriptions, removing watermarks through unauthorized means, or circumventing DRM. If a document requires a login, payment, special permission, or an access challenge you must complete in your own browser session, Document Fetch will not complete that challenge for you.

Some tools may build a PDF from public page images when a source exposes those images without requiring a login. That process only uses what is already publicly reachable. It does not create rights you did not already have, and the resulting file quality depends on the images the source chose to expose.

User responsibility

By using Document Fetch, you accept responsibility for the links you submit and the files you choose to save. You should only process material you have the right to access and use under applicable law and under the terms of the original platform. Classroom policies, employer policies, and publisher licenses may impose additional limits beyond copyright law.

You are responsible for scanning downloaded files with your own security tools when appropriate, storing them safely, and not redistributing works in ways that infringe someone else’s rights. Document Fetch is not liable for how third parties react to your use of their content, including account actions taken by source platforms.

No professional advice

Nothing on Document Fetch constitutes legal advice, copyright counseling, academic advice, or professional guidance of any kind. Our DMCA page describes our operational process for notices; it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction. If you have a dispute about ownership, licensing, fair use, or takedown strategy, consult a professional who can review your specific facts.

Accuracy of information on this site

We try to keep product descriptions, tool instructions, and legal pages accurate. Platform behavior changes often, so screenshots, examples, and capability statements can become outdated. Educational examples on the homepage are examples of document types people commonly save; they are not live proof that a particular third-party file is available through our tools right now.

If you notice a material inaccuracy, reach us through the Contact page so we can review it. Corrections may appear in later updates to the site copy.

External links

Document Fetch may link to external websites, including source document pages and our social profiles. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices. Visiting an external site is at your own risk and subject to that site’s terms.

Limitation reminder

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Document Fetch and its operators disclaim liability for damages arising from use of the site or reliance on any result, message, or file obtained through the tools. Additional warranty disclaimers and liability limits appear in our Terms of Service. Where local law prohibits certain disclaimers, those parts of this Disclaimer apply only to the maximum extent allowed.
