Terms of Service

Introduction

Welcome to Document Fetch. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of documentfetch.com, including our browser-based document tools for Scribd, Studocu, SlideShare, Academia.edu, and Issuu. By visiting the site or using any tool, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Document Fetch.

Document Fetch is built for a narrow job: helping people process publicly accessible document links and, when a legitimate public result exists, saving that result in a common file format. The service is intentionally honest about limits. We do not promise that every link will download, and we do not claim to unlock private or paid content.

Eligibility and acceptance

You may use Document Fetch if you can form a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. If you use the site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms. You are responsible for making sure your use complies with local law, school or workplace policies, and the terms of any source platform whose links you process.

We may refuse or limit access when we detect abuse, automated flooding, attempts to circumvent security, or other activity that threatens the stability or integrity of the service. Rate limits and security checks exist to keep Document Fetch available for ordinary users.

What Document Fetch provides

Document Fetch offers free online tools that accept a document URL from a supported platform, validate the URL against allowlisted hosts, and attempt only publicly available processing methods. Depending on what the source exposes, a tool may return a downloadable file, surface an official public file URL when one is present in public page data, or explain why a result is unavailable.

Supported tools currently include downloaders for Scribd, Studocu, SlideShare, Academia.edu, and Issuu. Features may change as platforms change. Temporary download tokens are time-limited and are not permanent hosting.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Document Fetch only with links you are allowed to access and use. You agree not to use the tools to attempt access to private, login-only, subscription-gated, paywalled, DRM-protected, or otherwise restricted material. You also agree not to submit passwords, session tokens, CAPTCHA solutions, or other credentials belonging to third-party platforms.

Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation: attacking or overloading Document Fetch; scraping the site in a way that harms performance; attempting to reverse engineer security controls for abusive purposes; uploading malware through forms; impersonating others; or using Document Fetch to distribute infringing copies of works you do not have rights to share.

No guarantee of availability or results

Document Fetch does not guarantee that any specific document, presentation, paper, or publication can be downloaded. Results depend entirely on what the source platform makes publicly accessible at the moment of processing. Source platforms may show challenge pages, block automated requests, remove documents, change URLs, or alter how public assets are exposed. When that happens, Document Fetch will typically show a clear failure state rather than invent a fake download button.

Even when a result is returned, file quality, completeness, and format depend on the public resources available. Generated PDFs built from public page images, for example, reflect only the images the source already exposes. We do not warrant that a result will meet academic, commercial, or archival requirements.

No affiliation with third-party platforms

Document Fetch is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Scribd, Studocu, SlideShare / LinkedIn, Academia.edu, Issuu, or any other named platform. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and appear on Document Fetch only for identification and descriptive purposes. You should follow each platform’s own terms when you use content originating there.

Intellectual property

Your responsibility for source content: Documents and media accessed through Document Fetch remain the property of their authors, publishers, or other rights holders. Document Fetch does not claim ownership of third-party documents. You are responsible for determining whether you have permission to download, store, share, or reuse any file. If you are unsure about copyright status, seek independent legal advice; nothing on this site is legal counsel.

Our site materials: The Document Fetch name, logo, page designs, original copy, and software that powers the site are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, scrape, or republish substantial portions of our original site content or branding for a competing service without permission, except for ordinary browsing, linking, and fair uses allowed by law.

Privacy

Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using Document Fetch, you also agree to that policy. Please review it carefully, especially if you plan to send personal details through the contact form.

Disclaimer of warranties

Document Fetch is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that results will be accurate or complete for your intended use.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Document Fetch and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of the site or any file obtained through it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (currently zero for free tool use) or one hundred US dollars, where such a cap is enforceable.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by law. You remain responsible for how you use downloaded files and for any disputes with third-party platforms or rights holders.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless Document Fetch and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the tools, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of someone else’s rights in connection with content you choose to process.

Changes to the service and to these Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Document Fetch at any time, including individual tools, without prior notice. We may also update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. If you disagree with a change, stop using the site.

Governing law and contact

These Terms are intended to be interpreted under generally applicable principles of contract and online service use in the jurisdiction where Document Fetch is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would require another jurisdiction’s law, except where mandatory consumer protections apply to you. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the Contact page. For copyright notices, use the DMCA policy process described on this site.
